0930     "Thinking like a Floatplane Pilot," - Vern Kingsford, Scenic Mountain Air/Alaska Float Ratings.  Start the summer float season with a refresher on techniques and informative tid-bits on float flying in Alaska.

 

1100     "AK Airmen's Association General Membership Meeting" - Russ Painter, President   

Review with us the past accomplishments, present programs and the future goals of the Alaska Airmen's Association

 

1230     "Venture to the RUSSIAN FAR EAST," Felix Maguire, Alaska Airmen's Association.  The demonstration flight from Nome to Providenyia took place in August 2001.  Today Route B369 is an officially published in the Alaska Supplement.  This year's VFR flight is scheduled for June 15-19.   Join Felix as he presents slides and information on flying to this exciting destination.

 

1400     "AOPA Town Meeting," - Phil Boyer, AOPA President, will speak to the topics of utmost concern to general aviation pilots nationwide - the FAA funding crisis and user fees.  With his unique background in aviation, communications, associations and business management, Phil Boyer is uniquely qualified to lead the 400,000-member AOPA into the next century in service to America's 640,000 pilots and aircraft owners. This afternoon, Boyer will fill you in on what AOPA has been doing to ensure your future in general aviation.

 

1545     "Flying Technically Advanced Aircraft" in Alaska - Jim Cieplak,  Alaskan Aviation Safety Foundation.  An avionics revolution is occurring for general aviation aircraft.  Don't miss this informative presentation by an industry representative on Phase III Capstone and what is in store for Alaska's general aviation community.

 

1700     "Alaska Civil Military Aviation Committee Meeting" - Major Al Thilmany  Semi-annual meeting for ACMAC members.

1030     "The Power of Women Pilots" - Enthusiasm, contributions, and activities in Alaska's aviation realm.  The Ninety-Nines, a non-profit corporation, is an international organization of licensed women pilots.

 

1145     "Alaska's Weather Camera Program," - Sue Gardner, FAA.  Terrain and rapidly changing weather phenomena do not permit the effective use of automated weather systems at many locations throughout Alaska.  This program has been tested and implemented.  There are currently 80 plus camera locations throughout the state.  Learn how to access this information for a better briefing before you fly.

 

1300     "The NEW ALASKA WING" - Commemorative Air Force - Mr. John Lage, Marketing Director, Midland, Texas.  Time passes and heroes grow old.  Memories fade.  A worn-out plane makes one last flight, the switches are turned off and the engines are forever silent.  Alaska is rich with WWII veterans and history.  Join the Colonels of the Alaska Wing of the CAF where information and goals and mission of the CAF will be presented. 

 

1415     "The New Airport Community Watch" - Lake Hood Seaplane Base and Fairbanks Intl Airport.  Vandalism, Runway incursions and security . . .  these two programs have been implemented by interested users groups and airport personal.  Join us for this informative meeting on how you can be involved.

 

1530     "Search and Rescue by the Civil Air Patrol in Alaska," - Udo Cassee, Squadron Commander, Polaris.  What does it take to find an overdue airplane and what you can do as a pilot or passenger to increase the probability to be found.

 

1645     "Alaska Airmen's Association Annual Airplane Raffle"
